Since 2011, LTD has been asked by local authorities in Zimbabwe each year to run our projects at different schools in the Murehwa district. Through the years we have learnt much ourselves, and with the help of professionals in the field of education and psychology, have developed the project in such a way that it is adapted to the specific needs and wants of the local teachers we have in our workshops.

2015
2015 was the fifth year LTD went to Zimbabwe for the project, but it was the first year we focused our workshops entirely on teachers. Through our experience in the past years, we found that the best and most effective way to reach pupils is through their teachers.

In 2014 we revisited all the previous workshops, because they had been received with much enthusiasm. However, we felt like there was more to be done.

In 2013 we introduced the new workshop Creative Development. In previous years we learned that being creative and using creativity as a subject was something that the teachers were unsure about.

In 2012 we returned with an adjusted program to the Durlstone School in Macheke and visited Hurungwe School in Murehwa for the first time. Again we had three workshops. Because of the problems with translation in 2011, this year we started with a teachers day and asked them to give the informative workshops themselves and use us for assistance.

In 2011, several Zimbabwean schools reached out to us, asking us to help create a project focussing on the empowerment and self­esteem of girls. We decided to develop a 4­day project, which we named ‘dancing with the Zimbabwean Stars’.
